Help Naufal keep the Neighbors' Pantry pantry stocked
Help keep a free food pantry open for elderly neighbors in Jakarta.
🇮🇩 Jakarta, DKI Jakarta, Indonesia903 views
Since 2019, our volunteer team has run Neighbors' Pantry every Tuesday from the back of a borrowed garage. We started with 20 families, and now we feed 216 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 44% this winter, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 20 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Jakarta market and keep every receipt.
Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $300 goes:
• Refrigeration and electricity: $55
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $220
• Baby formula and diapers: $25
Glad we found this place.

Thanks for sharing this, Naufal. More neighborhoods should do this. Sent it to 28 people at work
You're not alone, Naufal. This could happen to any of us. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. God bless
wishing you the best, Naufal. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I'll check back for the next update. God bless.
