Naresh is the first person in the family to go to university. He is studying a master's in public health at Mumbai State College, and is two terms away from graduating. He has worked as a tutor to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $700.
The registrar has said Naresh can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Naresh has a 3.6 average, and a faculty supervisor has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Naresh would lose his place and scholarship eligibility.
Naresh isn't asking for a handout - He wants to finish what He started and help the next student.
The payment will go directly to the Mumbai State College bursar's office. I'll post the receipt.
Where the $700 goes:
• Outstanding tuition balance: $440
• Final term tuition: $145
• Exam and lab fees: $30
• Textbooks and materials: $85
