Help Nancy lay Ama to rest with dignity in Accra
Nancy lost her mother suddenly and the family can't cover funeral and burial costs of $700.
🇬🇭 Accra, Greater Accra, Ghana412 views
Ama, my mother, passed away on 23 July after a long fight with kidney disease. She was 51 years old. She was the heart of our family and had no savings or life insurance.
The funeral home has given us a quote of $700 and the cemetery needs payment before the burial date of 4 August.
I have already used what I had for the hospital bills. My family is scattered, and many of us are out of work. We want Ama to have a dignified farewell.
Any help at all means a lot, and so do your prayers.
Anything left over after the funeral will be donated to the Accra hospice.
Where the $700 goes:
• Funeral home services and casket: $380
• Cemetery plot and burial fees: $230
• Transport of the deceased: $30
• Memorial gathering for the family: $60

how is Nancy doing now?
So sorry you're going through this, Nancy. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. My neighbor in London donated after I showed her your page. All the best.
So sorry you're going through this. Your post was clear and honest. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust. Greetings from Spanish Town

Sending good thoughts. Hope you get there. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Blessings.
Hope things get better soon, Nancy. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. All the best
