Nancy is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying an electrical engineering diploma at Nairobi State College, and is two terms away from graduating. She has worked as a warehouse packer to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $850.
The registrar has said Nancy can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Nancy has a 3.8 average, and a faculty supervisor has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Nancy would lose her place and scholarship eligibility.
Nancy isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student.
The payment will go directly to the Nairobi State College bursar's office. I'll post the receipt.
