Help Myra with custody modification filing and attorney fees
A custody modification deadline is approaching and Myra can't afford the lawyer.
🇮🇳 Maharashtra, India135 views
Myra is facing a custody modification. The hearing is scheduled for October, and the filing fees and the lawyer's retainer come to $610. Three legal-aid offices have said their waiting lists are longer than the deadline.
Myra has all the paperwork ready, and a caseworker at a local immigrant rights clinic has confirmed that the case is valid.
If the deadline is missed Myra could lose the right to stay with the family and the job. The children were born here and this is the only home they know.
Funds cover only the filing fees, translations and attorney retainer.
Where the $610 goes:
• Attorney retainer: $460
• Filing and biometrics fees: $120
• Certified translations and document copies: $25
• Court-appointed interpreter and travel: $5
Thanks for being kind about this.

Rooting for you. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Blessings!
How is Myra doing now?
Sending strength, Yamini. Hope you get there. My husband and I read this together.
Good luck, Yamini. Shared it with a few friends. My sister had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Greetings from San Francisco.
Thanks for sharing this. Hope you get there. After 27 years in hospitality I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Thinking of Thane.
Thinking of you and your family, Yamini. Looking forward to the next update. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend.
