Lyon
For twelve years I have run a neighborhood bakery in Lyon. In August, a storm that collapsed the roof took a commercial oven. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me. Before that, my customers came every Saturday, and I employed 2 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 10 weeks. This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment. Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item. I'll buy equipment from local suppliers and post photos and receipts as I go. Where the $3,450 goes: • Replacing a commercial oven: $1,800 • Initial stock: flour, butter and sugar: $530 • Shop repairs and licensing: $530 • Working capital for the first month: $590 You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it. - Mona

Praying for you. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Love from Kasarani

Sending good thoughts, Mona. Hope you make a strong comeback. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected!

I'd happily buy from you once you're back up. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. All the best.
