Help Mohan keep his home - 3 months behind on rent
A delayed insurance payout left Mohan short on rent for 3 months; help us stay in our home.

After a car accident that kept me from work for 5 weeks, Mohan fell 3 months behind on rent. Last Tuesday a 10-day notice to quit was taped to the door, and the amount owed is $650.
The landlord was understanding for a while, but has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by December, the family must leave.
There are three school-aged children at home. Moving would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
Mohan has started working weekend shifts, and is applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent.
Where the $650 goes:
• Rent arrears (3 months): $450
• Late fees and court costs: $30
• Utilities in arrears: $35
• First month of rent as a buffer: $135
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.

Good news. Because of your gifts ($145 in total) the first invoice got paid this week. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely. - Praveen
