Since 2023, our volunteer team has run the Sunday Shelf every Tuesday from the back of a community center. We started with 27 families, and now we feed 143 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 33% this rainy season, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 10 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Cairo market and keep every receipt.
Each $10 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $350 goes:
• Baby formula and diapers: $75
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $115
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $160
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.

Wishing you the best, Mohammed. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. My neighbor in Bornova donated after I showed her your page.
So sorry you're going through this. Hope this works out for you. Thinking of Cairo.
