Michael is the first person in the family to go to university. He is studying a computer science degree at Cincinnati University, and is one term away from graduating. He has worked as a library assistant to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $2,300.
The registrar has said Michael can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Michael has a top-ten-percent average, and an academic advisor has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Michael would lose his place and scholarship eligibility.
Michael isn't asking for a handout - He wants to finish what He started and help the next student.
Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees.
Where the $2,300 goes:
• Textbooks and materials: $370
• Exam and lab fees: $115
• Outstanding tuition balance: $1,815
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.
