Help me with an overdue electricity bill before summer
Hassan is behind on electricity bills after September's medical emergency and needs $550 to avoid a shut-off.

The electricity account is 3 months behind. I received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on November unless I pay $550. I have never been late before September's medical emergency.
I called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $100 first, which I don't have.
I live with an elderly mother, and going through summer without electricity isn't safe. We would also lose the ability to run the medical equipment at home.
I'm working on getting back on my feet, and will pay forward whatever help I can once I'm steady.
Every dollar goes to the account in Hassan's name; a copy of the paid bill will be shared in the updates.
Where the $550 goes:
• Utility arrears: $220
• Reconnection and late fees: $105
• Down payment on a payment plan: $225
Thanks for reading all this.

Can I help in a way that isn't money? I'm near Jeddah
Thank you. If you're in Jeddah I'll say if something practical comes up. For now sharing this is great. Appreciate you taking the time.
shared this with my family. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Take care.
It takes guts to ask. Well done. I'll check back for the next update.
wishing you the best, Hassan. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend. Take care.
