Help me pay for spinal decompression surgery at Mandurah University Hospital
After severe cataracts in both eyes, Emily was cleared for spinal decompression surgery, but the bill is more than we can manage.

In May I was diagnosed with severe cataracts in both eyes. My surgeon at Mandurah University Hospital recommended spinal decompression surgery, and I have been placed on the schedule for September. The hospital's financial office gave me a written estimate of $7,250, and after what our health plan will pay, I'm still $5,750 short.
Doctors at Mandurah University Hospital told me severe cataracts in both eyes will get worse without spinal decompression surgery. I work as a market vendor, and I have saved what I can, but the estimate of $7,250 is far beyond what I've.
Until the surgery I can't work full days, and my hours as a market vendor have already been cut. Every week of waiting means more pain and a bigger risk.
Recovery is expected to take about 6 weeks. I'll not be able to climb stairs during that time, so this has become a financial emergency as well as a medical one.
I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section.
Where the $5,750 goes:
• Pre-operative tests and imaging: $450
• Hospital stay (3 nights): $2,700
• Post-operative medication: $200
• Physiotherapy sessions: $550
• Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $1,850

Thinking of you and your family, Emily. Gave what I could, wish it was more. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. All the best.
Wishing you the best. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Love from Berlin.
keep going. This could happen to any of us. Sent it to 34 people at work!
sending love. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Love from Columbus.
