Help me pay for spinal decompression surgery at Berlin General Hospital
A scheduled spinal decompression surgery in October is out of reach without help covering $4,450 of the cost.

In August I was diagnosed with gallstones with repeated infections. My surgeon at Berlin General Hospital recommended spinal decompression surgery, and I have been placed on the schedule for October. The hospital's financial office gave me a written estimate of $6,250, and after what my employer's plan will pay, I'm still $4,450 short.
Doctors at Berlin General Hospital told me gallstones with repeated infections will get worse without spinal decompression surgery. I work as a call-centre agent, and I have saved what I can, but the estimate of $6,250 is far beyond what I've.
Until the surgery I can't work full days, and my hours as a call-centre agent have already been cut. Every week of waiting means more pain and a bigger risk.
Recovery is expected to take about 6 weeks. I'll not be able to work a full shift during that time, so this has become a financial emergency as well as a medical one.
I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section.
Where the $4,450 goes:
• Travel and lodging for the family: $170
• Pre-operative tests and imaging: $460
• Post-operative medication: $130
• Hospital stay (2 nights): $2,950
• Physiotherapy sessions: $740
Glad we found this place.
