Help me pay for septoplasty at Los Angeles General Hospital
After a thyroid nodule that needs removal, Russell was cleared for septoplasty, but the bill is more than we can manage.

In August I was diagnosed with a thyroid nodule that needs removal. My surgeon at Los Angeles General Hospital recommended septoplasty, and I have been placed on the schedule for October. The hospital's financial office gave me a written estimate of $8,000, and after what the government subsidy will pay, I'm still $5,950 short.
Doctors at Los Angeles General Hospital told me a thyroid nodule that needs removal will get worse without septoplasty. I work as a school bus driver, and I have saved what I can, but the estimate of $8,000 is far beyond what I've.
Until the surgery I can't work full days, and my hours as a school bus driver have already been cut. Every week of waiting means more pain and a bigger risk.
The recovery period is expected to take about 10 weeks. I'll not be able to work a full shift during that time, so this has become a financial emergency as well as a medical one.
I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section.
Where the $5,950 goes:
• Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $2,250
• Hospital stay (5 nights): $2,300
• Pre-operative tests and imaging: $310
• Post-operative medication: $320
• Physiotherapy sessions: $400
• Travel and lodging for the family: $370
With deep gratitude,
Russell
