Help me pay for laparoscopic endometriosis surgery at Lapu-Lapu Regional Medical Center
After a hip fracture that never healed properly, Gemma was cleared for laparoscopic endometriosis surgery, but the bill is more than we can manage.

In August I was diagnosed with a hip fracture that never healed properly. My surgeon at Lapu-Lapu Regional Medical Center recommended laparoscopic endometriosis surgery, and I have been placed on the schedule for November. The hospital's financial office gave me a written estimate of $2,000, and after what my insurance will pay, I'm still $1,000 short.
Doctors at Lapu-Lapu Regional Medical Center told me a hip fracture that never healed properly will get worse without laparoscopic endometriosis surgery. I work as a care assistant, and I have saved what I can, but the estimate of $2,000 is far beyond what I've.
Until the surgery I can't work full days, and my hours as a care assistant have already been cut. Every week of waiting means more pain and a bigger risk.
Recovery is expected to take about 6 weeks. I'll not be able to look after the children alone during that time, so this has become a financial emergency as well as a medical one.
I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section.
Where the $1,000 goes:
• Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $320
• Hospital stay (2 nights): $390
• Pre-operative tests and imaging: $75
• Post-operative medication: $45
• Physiotherapy sessions: $95
• Travel and lodging for the family: $75
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.

Hang in there, Gemma. This could happen to any of us. I went through something like this 6 years ago and strangers helped me out. Thinking of Lapu-Lapu.
Hope this works out for you. Love from Rio de Janeiro
