Cairo
In August I was diagnosed with a deviated septum causing chronic infections. My surgeon at Cairo General Hospital recommended laparoscopic endometriosis surgery, and I have been placed on the schedule for November. The hospital's financial office gave me a written estimate of $1,350, and after what my employer's plan will pay, I'm still $1,000 short. Doctors at Cairo General Hospital told me a deviated septum causing chronic infections will get worse without laparoscopic endometriosis surgery. I work as a retail assistant, and I have saved what I can, but the estimate of $1,350 is far beyond what I've. Until the surgery I can't work full days, and my hours as a retail assistant have already been cut. Every week of waiting means more pain and a bigger risk. Rehabilitation is expected to take about 6 weeks. I'll not be able to walk without help during that time, so this has become a financial emergency as well as a medical one. The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did. Where the $1,000 goes: • Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $510 • Hospital stay (4 nights): $200 • Pre-operative tests and imaging: $40 • Post-operative medication: $70 • Physiotherapy sessions: $115 • Travel and lodging for the family: $65 If you're reading this, thank you. - Majid

Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. surgeon and anesthesia fees comes first ($510) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. Thanks for asking.
