Help me pay for laparoscopic cyst removal at Saint Francis Hospital
A scheduled laparoscopic cyst removal in July is out of reach without help covering $600 of the cost.

In May I was diagnosed with a torn ligament that needs reconstruction. My surgeon at Saint Francis Hospital recommended laparoscopic cyst removal, and I have been placed on the schedule for July. The hospital's financial office gave me a written estimate of $1,000, and after what the public health scheme will pay, I'm still $600 short.
Doctors at Saint Francis Hospital told me a torn ligament that needs reconstruction will get worse without laparoscopic cyst removal. I work as a farm laborer, and I have saved what I can, but the estimate of $1,000 is far beyond what I've.
Until the surgery I can't work full days, and my hours as a farm laborer have already been cut. Every week of waiting means more pain and a bigger risk.
The recovery period is expected to take about 12 weeks. I'll not be able to walk without help during that time, so this has become a financial emergency as well as a medical one.
I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section.
Where the $600 goes:
• Post-operative medication: $35
• Travel and lodging for the family: $65
• Pre-operative tests and imaging: $45
• Physiotherapy sessions: $85
• Hospital stay (2 nights): $370
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.

Is there anything that isn't money that would help Joy?
hope things get better soon. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. After 23 years in nursing I know how hard it's to ask for anything.
Hope it all works out, Joy. I hope things turn around soon. Blessings
So sorry you're going through this, Joy. It takes guts to ask. Well done. My neighbor in San Jose donated after I showed her your page. Blessings.
Take care. Hope you get there. I have a 12 year old who wants to send good wishes too.
You're not alone, Joy. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double
