Help me pay for laparoscopic cyst removal at Epe Regional Medical Center
Amaka needs laparoscopic cyst removal at Epe Regional Medical Center and the family is $600 short of the hospital's estimate.

In December I was diagnosed with a large ovarian cyst. My surgeon at Epe Regional Medical Center recommended laparoscopic cyst removal, and I have been placed on the schedule for March. The hospital's financial office gave me a written estimate of $750, and after what the government subsidy will pay, I'm still $600 short.
Doctors at Epe Regional Medical Center told me a large ovarian cyst will get worse without laparoscopic cyst removal. I work as a security guard, and I have saved what I can, but the estimate of $750 is far beyond what I've.
Until the surgery I can't work full days, and my hours as a security guard have already been cut. Every week of waiting means more pain and a bigger risk.
Recovery is expected to take about 5 weeks. I'll not be able to stand for more than ten minutes during that time, so this has become a financial emergency as well as a medical one.
I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section.
Where the $600 goes:
• Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $270
• Physiotherapy sessions: $45
• Pre-operative tests and imaging: $65
• Post-operative medication: $40
• Hospital stay (4 nights): $180
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
