I'm the first person in my family to go to university. I'm studying an agriculture degree at Leeds Polytechnic, and I'm one semester away from graduating. I have worked as a shop assistant to pay my way, but this term my hours were cut and I have an unpaid balance of $3,650.
The registrar has told me I can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. I have a 3.6 average, and my academic advisor has written in support of my application for a payment plan.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support my younger siblings. Without enrolling this term I'd lose my place and my scholarship eligibility.
I'm not asking for a handout - I want to finish what I started and then help the next student.
The payment will go directly to the Leeds Polytechnic bursar's office. I'll post the receipt.
Where the $3,650 goes:
• Outstanding tuition balance: $1,000
• Final term tuition: $2,200
• Exam and lab fees: $310
• Textbooks and materials: $140
Thanks for being kind about this.

as a teacher I love seeing someone work this hard to learn. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Blessings.

Sending strength, Rina. As a teacher I love seeing someone work this hard to learn. After 22 years in hospitality I know how hard it's to ask for anything. All the best.
Your post was clear and honest. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Thinking of Leeds.
