A ramp for Orlando: volunteers and tools needed
Materials are donated. We need two carpenters and a helper for a weekend in Davao City.
🇵🇭 Davao del Sur, Philippines891 views
Orlando has used a wheelchair since 2025, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Orlando can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the accessibility guideline for gradient, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate twelve hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Orlando's family will cook lunch for the team.
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

Good luck. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Greetings from Ubud.
Stay strong, Dante. I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. Greetings from Giza.
thanks for sharing this, Dante. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Take care.
