I'm the first person in my family to go to university. I'm studying a teaching qualification at Stellenbosch Community College, and I'm two terms away from graduating. I have worked as a shop assistant to pay my way, but this term my hours were cut and I have an unpaid balance of $1,050. The registrar has told me I can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. I have a 3.9 average, and my academic advisor has written in support of my application for a payment plan. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support my younger siblings. Without enrolling this term I'd lose my place and my scholarship eligibility. I'm not asking for a handout - I want to finish what I started and then help the next student. The payment will go directly to the Stellenbosch Community College bursar's office. I'll post the receipt. Where the $1,050 goes: • Outstanding tuition balance: $260 • Textbooks and materials: $70 • Final term tuition: $720 I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.

Rooting for you, Dumisani. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Take care.
