Help me finish a nursing degree at George Polytechnic - $850 to go
A first-generation student, Thabisa needs help covering tuition for the final stretch of a nursing degree.

I'm the first person in my family to go to university. I'm studying a nursing degree at George Polytechnic, and I'm two terms away from graduating. I have worked as a shop assistant to pay my way, but this term my hours were cut and I have an unpaid balance of $850.
The registrar has told me I can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. I have a 3.9 average, and my professor has written in support of my application for a payment plan.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support my younger siblings. Without enrolling this term I'd lose my place and my scholarship eligibility.
I'm not asking for a handout - I want to finish what I started and then help the next student.
The payment will go directly to the George Polytechnic bursar's office. I'll post the receipt.
Where the $850 goes:
• Outstanding tuition balance: $700
• Exam and lab fees: $75
• Textbooks and materials: $75
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

you're not alone. Study hard! We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it
As a teacher I love seeing someone work this hard to learn. Greetings from Bandung.
Good luck. This could happen to any of us. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. All the best.
Rooting for you, Thabisa. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. It's not much but it's yours.
