I'm the first person in my family to go to university. I'm studying a degree in social work at Jakarta University, and I'm one term away from graduating. I have worked as a night-shift cleaner to pay my way, but this term my hours were cut and I have an unpaid balance of $550.
The registrar has told me I can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. I have a 3.8 average, and my department head has written in support of my application for a payment plan.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support my younger siblings. Without enrolling this term I'd lose my place and my scholarship eligibility.
I'm not asking for a handout - I want to finish what I started and then help the next student.
The payment will go directly to the Jakarta University bursar's office. I'll post the receipt.
Where the $550 goes:
• Outstanding tuition balance: $300
• Final term tuition: $140
• Exam and lab fees: $55
• Textbooks and materials: $55

sending good thoughts. Good luck with the exams, you've got this.
Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Okta.
The list at the bottom is the whole picture. outstanding tuition balance is the biggest at $300. Ask me anything else.
Wishing you the best, Okta. I hope things turn around soon. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double
Keep going, Okta. Shared this with my family. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. God bless
