Help me finish a computer science degree at Oakland Community College - $5,000 to go
A first-generation student, Rodrigo needs help covering tuition for the final stretch of a computer science degree.

I'm the first person in my family to go to university. I'm studying a computer science degree at Oakland Community College, and I'm two terms away from graduating. I have worked as a barista to pay my way, but this term my hours were cut and I have an unpaid balance of $5,000.
The registrar has told me I can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. I have a 3.9 average, and my department head has written in support of my application for a payment plan.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support my younger siblings. Without enrolling this term I'd lose my place and my scholarship eligibility.
I'm not asking for a handout - I want to finish what I started and then help the next student.
The payment will go directly to the Oakland Community College bursar's office. I'll post the receipt.
Where the $5,000 goes:
• Textbooks and materials: $290
• Final term tuition: $3,200
• Outstanding tuition balance: $1,510
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.

Sending good thoughts, Rodrigo. As a teacher I love seeing someone work this hard to learn. Don't give up. All the best.
Wishing you the best, Rodrigo. Study hard! After 24 years in construction I know how hard it's to ask for anything.
Best of luck, Rodrigo. Your post was clear and honest. Greetings from Duluth
