Help Maverick keep the the Second Helping pantry stocked
The the Second Helping pantry in Lowell is running low just as demand rises; $4,100 will stock it for 11 weeks.

Since 2019, our volunteer team has run the Second Helping every Thursday from the back of the old library basement. We started with 16 families, and now we feed 328 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 33% this summer, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 17 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Lowell market and keep every receipt.
Each $50 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $4,100 goes:
• Refrigeration and electricity: $370
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $1,400
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $2,330
