Help Maverick keep the Community Pantry pantry stocked
The Community Pantry pantry in Lowell is running low just as demand rises; $3,000 will stock it for 9 weeks.
🇺🇸 Massachusetts, United States1,198 views
Since 2020, our volunteer team has run Community Pantry every Sunday from the back of a school canteen. We started with 17 families, and now we feed 139 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 45% this winter, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 14 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Lowell market and keep every receipt.
Each $35 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $3,000 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $2,250
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $420
• Refrigeration and electricity: $330
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.
Updates from Maverick
We're at 30% thanks to 16 of you. I made the first payment toward refrigeration and electricity. More news soon.
Update from Lowell: we've started the first stage. We're at 7% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.
Small update. $267 so far, I made the first payment toward refrigeration and electricity.

Take care. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Love from Johannesburg.
Hope things get better soon. Hope you get there. Thinking of Lowell.
Keep going. More neighborhoods should do this. Thinking of Lowell.
Hope it all works out. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. After 20 years in retail I know how hard it's to ask for anything
Hope you get there. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Greetings from Durgapur.
