Since 2023, our volunteer team has run the Second Helping every Thursday from the back of the parish hall. We started with 15 families, and now we feed 71 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 45% this rainy season, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 15 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Bergamo market and keep every receipt.
Each $40 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $2,900 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $1,550
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $970
• Baby formula and diapers: $195
• Refrigeration and electricity: $185
I hope life is good to you.

Keep going. More neighborhoods should do this. Put this on a community board in Istanbul this morning. All the best.
Stay strong. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. Put this on a community board in Jeddah this morning. Blessings.
Praying for you, Mattia. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Thinking of Bergamo.
Best of luck. Hope this works out for you. It's not much but it's yours. Greetings from Lyon.
