Help Marisol keep the Open Hands Pantry pantry stocked
Marisol runs a volunteer pantry feeding 64 families; this fund restocks shelves for the summer.

Since 2022, our volunteer team has run Open Hands Pantry every Thursday from the back of the mosque courtyard. We started with 22 families, and now we feed 64 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 34% this summer, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 7 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Alcalá de Henares market and keep every receipt.
Each $25 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $1,650 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $600
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $350
• Baby formula and diapers: $420
• Refrigeration and electricity: $280
Glad we found this place.
