Mariko was diagnosed with a cleft palate needing repair in August. The surgeon at Tokyo Regional Medical Center recommended laparoscopic cyst removal, and She is scheduled for November. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $2,400, and after what my insurance will pay we're still $1,450 short.
my wife has been in and out of Tokyo Regional Medical Center since August. The doctors say a cleft palate needing repair will get worse without laparoscopic cyst removal. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $2,400 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Mariko struggles with daily life and can't walk without help. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 4 weeks. During that time Mariko won't be able to walk without help, so the costs keep growing.

Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. pre-operative tests and imaging comes first ($300) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. Fair thing to want to know.
