Help Mariana keep the the Sunday Shelf pantry stocked
The the Sunday Shelf pantry in Vitória da Conquista is running low just as demand rises; $1,100 will stock it for 7 weeks.

Since 2021, our volunteer team has run the Sunday Shelf every Tuesday from the back of the mosque courtyard. We started with 23 families, and now we feed 74 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 37% this winter, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 20 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Vitória da Conquista market and keep every receipt.
Each $10 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $1,100 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $650
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $185
• Baby formula and diapers: $110
• Refrigeration and electricity: $155
Glad we found this place.

Hang in there, Mariana. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. My neighbor had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Blessings.

sending strength. Shared this with my family. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. All the best
Take care. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Love from San Jose.
rooting for you, Mariana. This could happen to any of us
