Margaret was diagnosed with a thyroid nodule that needs removal in August. The surgeon at Mbarara Community Hospital recommended laparoscopic endometriosis surgery, and She is scheduled for December. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,200, and after what the public health scheme will pay we're still $950 short.
my daughter has been in and out of Mbarara Community Hospital since August. The doctors say a thyroid nodule that needs removal will get worse without laparoscopic endometriosis surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,200 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Margaret struggles with daily life and can't stand for more than ten minutes. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 6 weeks. During that time Margaret won't be able to stand for more than ten minutes, so the costs keep growing.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Margaret!
The list at the bottom is the whole picture. surgeon and anesthesia fees is the biggest at $470. Happy to explain more.
