Help Manisha keep the the Harvest Pantry pantry stocked
The the Harvest Pantry pantry in Bakersfield is running low just as demand rises; $2,850 will stock it for 9 weeks.

Since 2023, our volunteer team has run the Harvest Pantry every Monday from the back of the old library basement. We started with 14 families, and now we feed 350 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 44% this rainy season, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 8 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Bakersfield market and keep every receipt.
Each $50 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $2,850 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $1,100
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $880
• Baby formula and diapers: $490
• Refrigeration and electricity: $380
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

Thanks for sharing this, Manisha. I hope things turn around soon. Greetings from Ahmedabad.
Sending strength, Manisha. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust. Love from Bhaktapur.
Hang in there, Manisha. More neighborhoods should do this. Put this on a community board in Giza this morning.
