Omkar, my husband, passed away on 28 June after complications from pneumonia. He was 37 years old. He was the heart of our family and had no savings or life insurance. The funeral home has given us a quote of $550 and the cemetery needs payment before the burial date of 16 July. I have already used what I had for the hospital bills. My family is scattered, and many of us are out of work. We want Omkar to have a dignified farewell. Any help at all means a lot, and so do your prayers. Anything left over after the funeral will be donated to a local food bank. Where the $550 goes: • Funeral home services and casket: $310 • Cemetery plot and burial fees: $150 • Transport of the deceased: $30 • Memorial gathering for the family: $60 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
