Maliha is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying a computer science degree at Surat State College, and is one term away from graduating. She has worked as a barista to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $750.
The registrar has said Maliha can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Maliha has a 3.9 average, and a professor has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Maliha would lose her place and scholarship eligibility.
Maliha isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student.
The payment will go directly to the Surat State College bursar's office. I'll post the receipt.
Where the $750 goes:
• Outstanding tuition balance: $420
• Final term tuition: $260
• Exam and lab fees: $20
• Textbooks and materials: $50
