Maja was diagnosed with a thyroid nodule that needs removal in August. The surgeon at Saint Mary Hospital recommended knee replacement surgery, and She is scheduled for November. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $6,500, and after what my employer's plan will pay we're still $4,600 short.
my wife has been in and out of Saint Mary Hospital since August. The doctors say a thyroid nodule that needs removal will get worse without knee replacement surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $6,500 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Maja struggles with daily life and can't walk without help. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 3 weeks. During that time Maja won't be able to walk without help, so the costs keep growing.
