Nuwan, my brother, passed away on 13 September after a sudden heart attack. He was 59 years old. He was the heart of our family and had no savings or life insurance.
The funeral home has given us a quote of $700 and the cemetery needs payment before the burial date of 26 September.
I have already used what I had for the hospital bills. My family is scattered, and many of us are out of work. We want Nuwan to have a dignified farewell.
Any help at all means a lot, and so do your prayers.
The funds will be paid directly to the funeral home, and I'll share the receipt.
Where the $700 goes:
• Funeral home services and casket: $320
• Cemetery plot and burial fees: $260
• Transport of the deceased: $80
• Memorial gathering for the family: $40
