Louisville
Madelyn was diagnosed with endometriosis requiring surgery in July. The surgeon at Louisville Regional Medical Center recommended ACL reconstruction, and She is scheduled for September. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $16,500, and after what my insurance will pay we're still $8,250 short. my mother has been in and out of Louisville Regional Medical Center since July. The doctors say endometriosis requiring surgery will get worse without ACL reconstruction. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $16,500 is more than we can find. While we wait, Madelyn struggles with daily life and can't climb stairs. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. Recovery is expected to take about 5 weeks. During that time Madelyn won't be able to climb stairs, so the costs keep growing. I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section. Where the $8,250 goes: • Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $4,200 • Hospital stay (3 nights): $2,750 • Pre-operative tests and imaging: $320 • Post-operative medication: $210 • Physiotherapy sessions: $530 • Travel and lodging for the family: $240 With deep gratitude, Taylor
