Help Luis keep the Open Hands Pantry pantry stocked
The Open Hands Pantry pantry in Bakersfield is running low just as demand rises; $2,500 will stock it for 8 weeks.

Since 2023, our volunteer team has run Open Hands Pantry every Wednesday from the back of a borrowed garage. We started with 29 families, and now we feed 325 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 37% this rainy season, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 8 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Bakersfield market and keep every receipt.
Each $40 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $2,500 goes:
• Refrigeration and electricity: $290
• Baby formula and diapers: $320
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $1,890
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.
