Macharia, my brother, passed away on 11 August after a sudden heart attack. He was 78 years old. He was the heart of our family and had no savings or life insurance.
The funeral home has given us a quote of $800 and the cemetery needs payment before the burial date of 23 August.
I have already used what I had for the hospital bills. My family is scattered, and many of us are out of work. We want Macharia to have a dignified farewell.
Any help at all means a lot, and so do your prayers.
Anything left over after the funeral will be donated to a local food bank.

• Cemetery plot and burial fees: $165
• Transport of the deceased: $105
• Memorial gathering for the family: $80
