The heating account is 2 months behind. Lucas received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on May unless $750 is paid. He had never been late before my partner leaving the household.
Lucas called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $95 first, which isn't available.
The household includes a parent on oxygen therapy, and going through the rainy season without heating isn't safe. The children would have no light to study by.
Lucas is working on getting back on his feet, and wants to pay it forward once steady.
