The heating account is 3 months behind. Lourdes received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on May unless $100 is paid. She had never been late before February's medical emergency.
Lourdes called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $20 first, which isn't available.
The household includes a parent on oxygen therapy, and going through summer without heating isn't safe. We would also lose the ability to run the medical equipment at home.
Lourdes is working on getting back on her feet, and wants to pay it forward once steady.
The money will go directly to the utility provider, and I'll post the paid statement here.
