Lorenzo was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma in April. The oncology team at Albany Cancer Centre has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in June. He will be away from work for about 8 weeks.
Lorenzo is 28, worked as a cleaner at a hospital until April, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Albany Cancer Centre 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $2,850 goes:
• Scans and lab work: $1,500
• Household costs while unable to work: $980
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $370
