Long was diagnosed with gallstones with repeated infections in February. The surgeon at Los Angeles Community Hospital recommended a partial thyroidectomy, and He is scheduled for April. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $9,250, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $6,450 short. my son has been in and out of Los Angeles Community Hospital since February. The doctors say gallstones with repeated infections will get worse without a partial thyroidectomy. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $9,250 is more than we can find. While we wait, Long struggles with daily life and can't lift anything heavy.
