Liverpool
Lincoln was diagnosed with a thyroid nodule that needs removal in August. The surgeon at Liverpool Orthopedic Institute recommended a craniotomy, and He is scheduled for December. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $5,250, and after what my employer's plan will pay we're still $3,700 short. my husband has been in and out of Liverpool Orthopedic Institute since August. The doctors say a thyroid nodule that needs removal will get worse without a craniotomy. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $5,250 is more than we can find. While we wait, Lincoln struggles with daily life and can't drive. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. Rehabilitation is expected to take about 7 weeks. During that time Lincoln won't be able to drive, so the costs keep growing. I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section. Where the $3,700 goes: • Pre-operative tests and imaging: $610 • Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $2,750 • Travel and lodging for the family: $340 If you're reading this, thank you.
