Help Leonardo keep the the Second Helping pantry stocked
The the Second Helping pantry in Catania is running low just as demand rises; $1,800 will stock it for 9 weeks.
🇮🇹 Catania, Sicily, Italy1,322 views
Since 2020, our volunteer team has run the Second Helping every Saturday from the back of a community center. We started with 28 families, and now we feed 167 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 32% this winter, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 18 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Catania market and keep every receipt.
Each $30 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $1,800 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $1,000
• Baby formula and diapers: $500
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $300
If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.

can I help in a way that isn't money? I'm near Catania
Thank you. If you're in Catania I'll say if something practical comes up. For now sharing this is great. Thanks, that means a lot.
Hope it all works out. Looking forward to the next update. Greetings from Thane.
you're not alone. Hope you get there. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Thinking of Catania.
you're not alone, Leonardo. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. Thinking of Catania.
