Help Layla with an overdue electricity bill before winter
Help Layla cover an overdue electricity bill so the household stays safe this winter.

The electricity account is 2 months behind. Layla received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on April unless $300 is paid. She had never been late before December's medical emergency.
Layla called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $100 first, which isn't available.
The household includes a parent on oxygen therapy, and going through winter without electricity isn't safe. Without it we can't refrigerate insulin and food, or keep the house at a safe temperature.
Layla is working on getting back on her feet, and wants to pay it forward once steady.
The money will go directly to the utility provider, and I'll post the paid statement here.
Where the $300 goes:
• Electricity arrears: $130
• Reconnection and late fees: $50
• Down payment on a payment plan: $120
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.
- due date
- 2026-03-17
- bill type
- Utility arrears

thanks for sharing this. I hope things turn around soon. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double
Sending love, Jamal. Rent stress is the worst. Hope this helps. I'm in public service myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. Love from Reading.
You're not alone, Jamal. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Sent it to 17 people at work.
