Help Lavanya get back to civilian life: housing deposit and training
Lavanya served fourteen years in the marines; $900 would cover a first month of rent and transport to job interviews.

I served fourteen years in the marines and was discharged in 2023 with chronic tinnitus. I have been waiting nine months for support, and meanwhile I'm sleeping at my brother's place.
I have a plan: a first month of rent and transport to job interviews. The quote I have comes to $900.
I'm receiving counseling through the veterans' clinic and am committed to my recovery. Structure and a stable place to live are the missing pieces.
I'd be grateful for any help and will share updates on how I'm doing.
Money will be paid to the training provider and the landlord directly.
Where the $900 goes:
• Training provider fees: $540
• Housing deposit and first month: $200
• Transport to appointments: $90
• Essential household items: $70
Thank you for reading my story.
Updates from Lavanya
Thank you all. We're at 14% now ($130). I'm honestly stunned. I met with the provider and confirmed the amounts. - Lavanya

Good news. Because of your gifts ($50 in total) I made the first payment toward training provider fees. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
