Tarkwa
Since 2020, our volunteer team has run Community Pantry every Monday from the back of a school canteen. We started with 9 families, and now we feed 305 each week. Donations have dropped by about 35% this summer, while the line has grown every single week. We rely on volunteers - 14 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Tarkwa market and keep every receipt. Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week. I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday. Where the $350 goes: • Fresh vegetables and fruit: $115 • Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $155 • Refrigeration and electricity: $80 With deep gratitude, Kwasi

Updates from Kwasi

  1. Thank you all. We're at 29% now ($100). I'm honestly stunned. the first invoice got paid this week.

  2. Good news. Because of your gifts ($85 in total) I made the first payment toward fresh vegetables and fruit. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

  3. Small update. $45 so far, the plan for rice, beans, flour and oil is now scheduled.
