Help Kunle keep the the Second Helping pantry stocked
The the Second Helping pantry in Badagry is running low just as demand rises; $300 will stock it for 7 weeks.
🇳🇬 Badagry, Lagos, Nigeria1,564 views
Since 2020, our volunteer team has run the Second Helping every Monday from the back of a school canteen. We started with 9 families, and now we feed 138 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 60% this harvest gap, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 6 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Badagry market and keep every receipt.
Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $300 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $115
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $105
• Baby formula and diapers: $70
• Refrigeration and electricity: $10
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

Best of luck, Kunle. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend. Greetings from Palmira.
