Help Klaus replace the gearbox and return to work
Without my school-run minibus Klaus can't work; a $950 repair would put him back on the road.

I make my living with my school-run minibus. 8 weeks ago the gearbox failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $950. Without the vehicle I earn nothing.
I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask.
I support my wife and our newborn. Before the breakdown I worked ten hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next three months if I can just get the vehicle working.
I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here.
I'll pay the mechanic directly and show you the repaired vehicle in an update.
Where the $950 goes:
• gearbox replacement (parts): $450
• Labor charges: $240
• Road tax and insurance renewal: $150
• Towing and inspection: $110
With deep gratitude,
Klaus

Hang in there, Klaus. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected
