Help Kiprop pay for cataract surgery at Nairobi Regional Medical Center
A scheduled cataract surgery in September is out of reach without help covering $800 of the cost.

Kiprop was diagnosed with a benign brain tumor in June. The surgeon at Nairobi Regional Medical Center recommended cataract surgery, and He is scheduled for September. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,600, and after what the public health scheme will pay we're still $800 short.
my brother has been in and out of Nairobi Regional Medical Center since June. The doctors say a benign brain tumor will get worse without cataract surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,600 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Kiprop struggles with daily life and can't drive. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 6 weeks. During that time Kiprop won't be able to drive, so the costs keep growing.
I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section.
Where the $800 goes:
• Hospital stay (5 nights): $560
• Post-operative medication: $60
• Travel and lodging for the family: $35
• Physiotherapy sessions: $145
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.
